About This Site

ButtonsAndMore.com was created with the soul purpose of raising autism awareness. The one thing I have learned about autism is that I know nothing about it, except that it has taken my child prisoner. But I know Sarah and I know that someday ( I hope soon) someone will find the key and set her free.

ButtonsAndMore.com (also know as AutismButtons.com) has one mission and then it will shutdown forever. It is my goal to make one last button, the "I Love Someone Who Had Autism" button. (If you’re on my mailing list, I'll be sending you one too.)
Until that day, I will not give up the fight and I will not go away.

I am a Father not a Doctor, a Therapist or a Teacher.
I hope that this and other Autism sites will help raise enough awareness that the right Doctors, Teachers and Therapists will get involved and find a way to help our children.

If your child has a broken arm and you took her to 10 doctors, all 10 doctors would treat the break the same way. If you take a child with Autism to 10 doctors, they would all treat the child's case differently. This is a frustration to parents with Autistic children.

I have been living and working with Autism now for many years and sometimes I feel that I don't understand it any more today then I did at the beginning. It seems every year a new miracle cure for Autism is announced, and as loving caring parents we dive in heart first to save our children (as we think we should). Only to find six months later the miracle never worked and our child is still Autistic.

As a father I will never give up the fight and I will always do what is best for my child. I am also on a mission. A mission to be a voice for our children.

In short, this site will never tell you how to treat Autism or your child. Please fee free to send your comments. - Richard, Sarah's Dad
